The Financial District was softening into that rare summer calm, the kind where the city exhales after a week of being all sharp edges and rushing footsteps.

I was waiting for someone when I noticed them.
Two women sit by the window, the skyline glowing behind them.
One spoke with the urgency of someone who had held in too many stories all week; the other listened, head tilted, smiling in a way that felt almost like relief.

Colleagues? Friends?
It didn’t matter.

This was the most important meeting in the Financial District that day, with no deals and no strategies. Just two people being human.
We chase big wins, but what are the real turning points?

They start here.
A shared story and perspective remind us of what (and who) really matters.
The best conversations aren’t scheduled.
They happen when you stop long enough to notice, to be present.
Not every exchange will change your career, but some will change how you end the week and step into the next one.

Who’s the person you should make time for this Friday?
